What about the social responsibility universities have? Who are the beneficiaries of academic research? Where can people, who cast a critical look at society's problems, be involved in actual engagement? To what extent does the concern with humanitarian topics prove fruitful for science? unicum:mensch wants to build a bridge between academic research and social engagement. We are engaged as follows:

  • unicum:mensch publishes a series of books, edition:menschlichkeit [more...]
  • unicum:mensch builds a network of its members and their fields of expertise to effect more publicity for humanitarian concerns and for mutual support
  • unicum:mensch organises courses on poverty together with the Centre for Poverty Research at Salzburg University
  • unicum:mensch organises seminars and events about humanitarian topics in cooperation with universities and societies
  • unicum:mensch coordinates research that is geared towards a culture of humanity, particularly in the field of poverty research
  • unicum:mensch supports real projects (tsunami in Asia, Sozialroutenplanerin, a school project in India)
